MC97 has been developed to meet new environmental regulations for rubber manufacturing processes and will replace the regular Johnson neoprene impeller compound. The development of MC97 has also resulted in an extended service life of the impeller compared to impellers in neoprene. The Johnson flexible pump impeller has twelve blades and is supplied complete with gaskets, O-ring lubrication gel and instruction manual to aid installation of the impeller into the flexible impeller pump. It is highly recommended to make sure you use an original pump impeller for your flexible impeller pump as this will ensure that the quality complies with the performance and dimension requirements for each pump type. Johnson Pump impellers are manufactured in strict compliance with the pump specifications set by the engine manufacturers. The impeller fits the following engines as standard: - Volvo Penta 4.3GL-G, 4.3GL-GF, 4.3GXi-F, 4.3GXi-FF, 4.3GXi-G, 4.3GXi-GF, 4.3OSi-F, 4.3OSi-FF, 4.3OSi-G, 4.3OSi-GF, 5.0GL-H, 5.0GL-HF, 5.0GXi-F, 5.0GXi-FF, 5.0GXi-G, 5.0GXi-GF, 5.0OSi-F, 5.0OSi-FF, 5.0OSi-G, 5.0OSi-GF, 5.7Gi-F, 5.7Gi-FF, 5.7Gi-G, 5.7Gi-GF, 5.7GiI-F, 5.7GiI-G, 5.7GXi-G, 5.7GXi-GF, 5.7GXi-H, 5.7GXi-HF, 5.7GXiI-G, 5.7GXiI-H, 5.7OSi-E, 5.7OSi-EF, 5.7OSi-G, 5.7OSi-GF, 5.7OSXi-E, 5.7OSXi-EF, 5.7OSXi-G, 5.7OSXi-GF & D3 - Yamaha 6TA, 6TC, ME370 STi, ME420 STi, N57 & N60 - Yanmar 6LP (1997 onwards) As well as: Ameco Peninsula V8-379T, Flagship 454, Hardin V8, Indmar 250, 285, 285R11, 5.7L Assault 310 & 340, 5.7L Carburetted Vortec, 5.7L EFI MPFI, 6.0L & 6.2L MPFI, 7.4L, 8.1L & 8.2L Engines, Assault 325, 454 & 502 Carburetted, 5.7L HO, 8.1L Vortec, LTI, TBI, Malibu 383 Hammerhead, Malibu 5.7L LCR, Malibu 8.1L Vortec, Malibu Anniversary Edition LS7, Malibu Monsoon, Mastercraft 5.7L RTP-1, Mastercraft 6.0L LY6, Mastercraft 8.1L Vortec, Mastercraft MCX, Marine Power 351, Ford 351, Panther Marine 454, Toyota 120Z, 197F. How to remove an old impeller: Remove the impeller with slip joint pliers or a Johnson Pump Impuller Part Number 09-800 How to fit a new impeller: Lubricate the shaft and the inside of the pump body and the end cover. Use Johnson Pump Lubrication to help develop prime and prevent damage from dry-running the pump at initial start-up. Mount the impeller by making a pushing and twisting movement in the rotating direction. Lubricated impellers should not be stored for extended periods of time. The engine should be run after installation of a new impeller to wash out the lubrication. These recommendations apply to any service work on the pump and its components that require the use of lubrication inside the pump for assembly and start-up. Warning! Do not use any petroleum-based products to lubricate the inside of the pump. Only use Johnson Pump Lubrication. Other products can damage the impeller which will damage the pump and lead to engine failure. Do not run the impeller without water or lubricant; this can cause engine failure or a fire. 1. A vacuum is created as the flexible impeller vanes straighten upon leaving the cam drawing liquid into the pump. 2. The rotating impeller carries liquid from the inlet to the outlet port. As a consequence of their design flexible impeller pumps can pass fairly large solids. 3. When the flexible impeller vanes regain contact with the cam they bend and the liquid is discharged from the pump in a uniform flow. Liquids can be pumped in the opposite direction by reversing the rotation of the pump.
