Description

Maestrini water intake scoop strainer made from brass, with a full slotted intake grating. This water inlet scoop is designed for raw water intake systems, such as those used in static intakes like toilets and gensets. It fits through the hull with the grating on the outside and the male threaded pipe leading inside, usually to a valve to open and close the water intake. The through hull scoop grating can be secured to the hull using a marine sealant and is also fixed with a back locking nut and washer. Important note: All fittings used for through hull applications must be correctly electrically bonded to ensure protection from electrolytic corrosion. Brass is susceptible to dezincification and may not last as long as other materials in below waterline through hull applications.
